Ali Sher is a resident of Sukkur and operates a small grocery store in his neighborhood. His store is the sole source of income for his family of six. Ali Sher is married and lives in Sukkur with his wife, parents and two sisters. He used to have very limited products to sell at his store, due to which his sales were next to nothing. He was unable to provide a satisfactory living to his family. A couple of years ago he got to know about Akhuwat and their interest free microfinancing program. He applied for a loan straight away and was disbursed a sum of 15,000 rupees in the following few weeks.
Ali bought a wider selection of products to sell at his grocery shop. He mostly purchased common household commodities, some confectionaries and snacks. His income and business has improved considerably since as he now attracts a lot of customers. Ali is now requesting for a second loan to start selling fresh milk along with the grocery items as well. He figures it will enable him to increase his sales and profits significantly.
