Out of the twelve people that comprise Daleep’s family, only two of them are capable of earning for a living. Daleep is married and father of three children. Two of his children are getting an education. Daleep and his brother have a shoe-making business wherein one of the brothers supplies the shoes and the other looks after the sales on the shop. Both the brothers work extremely hard to make ends meet. Despite everything, they could barely make enough for their family.
Their shoe-making business was transferred to them by their father who, in his time, was the sole bread-winner of the family. The floods of 2010 were one of those tragedies that ended up taking lives of thousands and destroying the homes of millions. Daleep’s family was among the millions who were affected by the disaster as they were left completely homeless. Nonetheless, they showed great courage in the face of their adversities and both the brothers managed to continue their shoe-making business. With great difficulty both the brothers have managed to put a roof over their family’s head but their situation is still dismal, and their future bleak. Daleep wants to grow his business and for this he needs some investment in his business. Daleep has requested for a loan of PKR 20,000 to purchase the raw material of shoes making. He believes with his continuous efforts he could raise his earnings.
