Qurat-ul-Ain is a seamstress by profession. She particularly stitches women’s formal clothes like frocks, paneled shirts, fancy lehngas and skirts etc. She makes different traditional and stylish clothes after buying cut pieces from the wholesale market. She then different styled outfits according to the ongoing trends or fashions. Overtime she has become extremely proficient and adept at her work.
Qurat-ul-Ain belongs from a lower middle class background and her family’s income has never been affluent. Until a few years back, her financial conditions were strenuous. She was hardly ever able to manage her household expenses. She then got to know about Akhuwat’s interest free loans and decided to apply for one. Qurat-ul-Ain received her first loan from of 20,000 rupees with which she bought a new jockey machine and some stitching supplies. She started stitching clothes for women in her neighbourhood. However, her demand has increased tenfold like her skills. As she does not have enough working capital to expand her business she has requested for another loan to enable her to buy more fabric and sewing supplies.
